Like, your right, it totally sounded like just another dress-up app. I thought it was gonna be super basic, just picking hairstyles and outfits. That description is like describing pizza as "bread with toppings." Technically true, but completely misses the whole point!
Dude, it's not just a character creator. Like, not at all. I started playing it thinking I'd just mess around for ten minutes, make a cute character named Hana, and then quit. But then Hana, my character, was actually in a *story*. She goes to this new school, Sakura Academy, and she has to like, navigate friendships and classes and stuff. And you make choices! Real choices that actually change what happens.
The first time I played, I was trying to make Hana super shy, so I picked all the quiet dialogue options. But then this guy, Kaito, who's like the super popular class president, he kept trying to talk to her, and I kept making her avoid him. And then later, during the school festival, he looked genuinely bummed out when she didn't show up for the planning meeting. It wasn't just a static image, his expression actually *changed*. I felt so bad! I had to restart that whole chapter just to be nicer to him.
And the little things! Like, when you're talking to your best friend character, Mika, there's this little sparkly sound effect when she says something supportive, and it just makes you smile. Or when I figured out that if you spend time in the "library" option, your "intelligence" stat goes up, and then you get totally different dialogue options later that actually help solve a mystery about a missing school mascot. It’s like, really clever how they did that. I usually don't like these kinds of games, but this one makes you actually care about the characters and what happens to them. It's fun. Really, really fun. I looked up and it was like 2 AM. Your going to love it.
