And suddenly it’s not about shooting anymore, it’s about getting her through this hell.

That's what got me. It's not about the big explosions, it’s about these tiny, human moments. Like, later on, I was trying to sneak through a factory, and I usually hate stealth, but I had to keep this kid quiet. I figured out if you throw a broken radio to distract a guard, she'd giggle, and that sound made me smile even though I was stressed. It's like, really clever how they did that. It's not just a game where your reflexes matter, it's where your *heart* matters.

I looked at the clock and it was like 2 AM. I usually just play for an hour or so, but I just couldn't stop. I'm not sure why but it makes you feel like you're really there, like you're actually responsible. The way the wind howls on the 'Ashfall' map, or the little whispers you hear in the background? It’s just so much more than a shooter. It’s like that movie, 'Children of Men', but you're actually the one trying to keep hope alive. I even told my cousin Leo about it today, he's usually into those cheesy sci-fi games but I think he'd get this one. You really gotta play it. It's just... different. Really, really good.
