Color Splash Builde
About Color Splash Builde
Dude, you will NOT believe this game. It's 11 PM and I'm still buzzing from playing Color Splash Builde. Remember that super lame description someone sent us? "Creative Fun for Little Artists. Fun online coloring game..." blah blah blah? Yeah, that was like describing a gourmet burger as "meat between bread." Totally misses the point.
I started playing tonight, expecting some chill, mindless coloring. Like, okay, here's a picture of a tree, color it green. But NO. The first level, it's this grey, kinda sad looking world, and you're just a little blob called Splish. They give you a brush, and I'm thinking, okay, I'll just color the ground blue. But when I painted this dried-up riverbed blue, it didn't just change color, it *filled with actual water* and started flowing! I swear I gasped out loud.
That's when I realized this game isn't about coloring *pictures*, it's about coloring *the world to make it work*. Like, I had to paint these dead gears bright red to make them spin again, and when they spun, they opened a door. And there's this super satisfying *thwip* sound every time a new part of the world comes alive. It's not just a kids' game at all, it's like a puzzle game but your tools are paintbrushes and colors have magic properties.
I spent like, an hour trying to figure out how to get across this chasm. I kept trying different colors on the bridge, thinking it would just make it solid. But then I accidentally splashed yellow paint on the *air* next to it, and these bouncy yellow platforms appeared! I was like, "WHOA." It's so clever. And the little Splish character, when he jumps on them, he makes this adorable little *boing* sound.
Honestly, I usually get bored with puzzle games, but this one is different. It’s so creative, your brain just starts thinking in colors. I looked at the clock and it was like, 1 AM, I swore I'd only been playing for thirty minutes. I even told Sarah from work about it today, she's into those artsy indie games. Your going to love it, it's really good. Like, surprisingly, genuinely good.
